Summer Housing

Housing is available for students registered in on-campus programs. Details regarding housing amenities, deadlines, and fees are below; links to the application form will be available in January 2023.

To reserve on-campus housing

  1. Fill out and sign the correct electronic form for your program below. If you are under 18 years of age, your form must be signed by you and by a parent or guardian (California law applies).
  2. Pay the housing fee through Special Requests on the Extended Studies website before the deadline.

On-campus housing is limited and spaces will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. In order to reserve your space, you must pay the fee and submit your Housing Contract. Reservations received after all spaces are filled will be placed on a waiting list. If space becomes available, waiting list reservations will be secured in the order received. The Residence Life office will assign roommates and suite mates. Every effort will be made to honor the preferences and requests you provide in your Housing Contract.

You may pay the housing fee and submit your Housing Contract upon acceptance to the summer program. Both payment and the Housing Contract must be received no later than the payment deadline listed below.

Refund and Cancellation Policies for Summer Housing

  • You may cancel a reservation by submitting written notice via email to before the payment deadline for your specific program listed below. Cancellation requests received before this date will be refunded the housing fee.
  • Cancellation requests received after your program’s payment deadline will receive no refund.
  • If you are not admitted to a Summer program and you have already paid for housing, you will receive a full refund.

Summer Residencies and Critical Studies Courses

Students enrolled in Summer Residencies or Critical Studies courses  stay in apartment-style suites in Ahmanson Hall. Each suite consists of six single-occupancy bedrooms with a shared kitchen, bath and furnished living room. A microwave, cookware, dishes and eating utensils are provided for summer guests. Each single-occupancy bedroom has an extra-long twin bed, table top desk, desk chair, dresser, built-in closet and wall bookshelf. It also includes a computer network connection (high-speed internet access provided).
